Details: GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of this position is to drive Meat Department sales through vigorous and energetic interaction with customers and ensuring efficiency and profitability of the Meat department to QFC Standards. In addition to supervising the department employees, conducting inventory, ordering products, ensure that all product is fresh and dated. The Meat Manager is responsible for merchandising and ensuring that the Meat Department is kept neat and clean to QFC Standards. Merchandising and quality is a key factor for Meat sales. Frequent independent judgments are essential in managing day to day and seasonal sales. The Meat Manager will conduct department specific training for all meat associates to QFC standards. It is important that the Meat Manager works closely the in-store HR to ensure that all associates receive the required QFC training as well as managing the meat department staff. It is the responsibility of all QFC associates to assist our customers each and every day throughout the store. QFC requires that all associates perform tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. The Meat Manager will work with the Meat/Seafood Field Coordinator, District Manager, Doc, Meat/Seafood Operations, store associates and Store Management team. This position is hourly. Shifts may vary from week to week. Weekend, night and occasional holiday work is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS: Consistently provide Customer 1st service Coordinate and implement all corporate merchandising and operational initiatives. Oversee all HACCP practices in the department including: Wash hands properly and often. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the Meat department. Ensure all employees practice safe food handling practices. Actively participate in all corporate work safety initiatives. Use saw or knife to cut meat Use Meat grinder. Receive and merchandise meat products Wash hand properly and often. Accept deliveries and process invoices. Direct, train and manage Meat employees. Inventory Meat Department. Order Product. Maintain equipment. Inspect for Quality Control issues, proper rotation and correct signage. Maintain communication with Store Manager, District Manager and District Merchandiser.
