Position Available: Bakery ManagersPRIMARY OBJECTIVETo plan and manage the Bakery Department so as to promote sales and achieve profit margins and labor goals. To produce bakery product. To contribute toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for associates. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Follows all company and department policies and standard operating procedures. Complies with federal and state regulations. Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers. Adheres to all cleaning and sanitation guidelines. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to other duties that may be assigned: Provides friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions. Develops effective daily/weekly work plan based on weekly sales projections, budgeted labor goals and previous operating results. Determines work priorities and establishes work lists in order to consistently maintain adequate department conditions. Determines work needs and writes labor schedule in most effective manner to meet these needs. Communicates with Store Director and Bakery Merchandiser concerning ongoing department status, including successes, problems and planning. Implements and maintains coordinated, aggressive and creative merchandising using Division guidelines, to maximize sales, variety and gross profit. Consistently monitors mix of demand and profit items, shelf allocation, variety, movement and stock levels to properly order, merchandise and meet sales and gross profit goals. Supervises Bakery associates to ensure efficient labor utilization and effectiveness in meeting department objectives. Manages Bakery Department receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control and inventory to ensure proper product control, and that gross profit goals are met.
